BATMOBILE

If you think about Dutch Psychobilly, Batmobile is the first thing that comes to mind. In fact Batmobile is without doubt the most important Psychobilly act from the Continent.

They were formed by Jeroen Haamers (v/g) and Johnny Zuidhof (d) back in 1983.They wanted to sound like their idols: J. Burnette, Elvis Presley or The Blue Cats. So they had to add Eric Haamers, Jeroen´s brother, because they could not find another slap-bass player.

The lads were signed by Rockhouse and so Batmobile recorded their first album at the end of 1984, the 7 track-Mini album "Batmobile", which was done in one day and included the Fan favourites "Frenzy" & "Transsylvanian Express". In 1986, they did a radio session and produced a new album called " Bambooland ".

The Batmos started to tour all over the world (even Japan) and even played the legendary Psychobilly mecca Klub Foot. They  appeared on several radio & TV shows in the Netherlands, too. After a three year break, dating back to 2001 the Batmobile ´s still coasting .
